E-Design Services

Our e-design services are created for those who want to implement their own design, but need a customized instructional manual to create a space that matches their unique taste, lifestyle, and investment level.With our e-design service, you get the benefit of our experience and our expertise, with the ability to implement your design plan as time and budget allow.


Getting Started

After you purchase your E-Design bundle, we begin getting to know you with our questionnaire and phone call or zoom conversation. We will then provide you with a detailed design plan with inspiration photos, layouts, design rationale, and shopping list. Everything you need to implement the design.



First, we like to get to know you as well as possible. Discovery helps us clearly define your taste, needs, preferences, priorities, budget, and how you will live in and utilize the spaces in your home.


This is when the vision for your home really takes shape. We begin with a top-level conceptual design for the project. Once that is perfected, we begin space planning, selections and details for each room.


We provide a detailed layout for each room ensuring that the size, scale, and spacing are considered from the start. You will also receive a presentation that will showcase how each furnishing and selection fit into the overall design concept.

Trade Only Products

If you’d like access to Trade Only products such as furniture, textiles, wall coverings, or lighting, let us know! We will make our recommendations during your session and will help order any of your selections following your Designer for a Day session.

Additional Services

You may choose 3D modeling, an in-person shopping trip to local boutiques, or creating and ordering a custom design such as a window treatment, built ins, or custom furniture and art.

  • Can I order trade only items?
    Only as a Hudson Cooper Design client will you have access to quality furnishings at special pricing. In line with industry standards we may charge a procurement and management fee on some items. However, we guarantee our clients will always pay below retail price.
  • How much will we cover?
    For this service we recommend focusing the project on just 1-2 rooms or topics, so we can provide you with the expertise needed to achieve your design. The more information you provide to us in advance – including photos, measurements, and a thoughtfully completed Design Questionnaire – the more we can cover.
  • How many sessions can I book?
    We allow a maximum of three sessions per project. If you feel you will need additional help for this project, please consider Full Service Design.
  • Can I add to my project?
    We love repeat clients! When you're ready to tackle another room or project in your home, we invite you to book another Distant Design session. If, after your session, you decide you would like us to be a larger part of your project, or if your project is larger than you initially expected, we'd be happy to provide you with a proposal for Full Service Design.
