This client began with the brief: “Less is more when it comes to color.” The homeowner wanted a palette that was light, airy, neutral, and distinctly coastal. They wanted a space that was sophisticated and modern yet warm and inviting. The husband of the pair was a professional hockey player, so they had lived and traveled all over the world and amassed a collection of one-of-a-kind pieces that they wanted to incorporate into their home’s design. We created custom built-ins in the office to display their souvenirs, as well as built-ins in the dining room for that purpose, with the added benefit of storage. We added real depth to this builder-basic home,changing the lighting and hardware and adding unique elements that make the home personal, like the custom sectional.
